Founded in 1925, Gosport Bowling Club originally had a single green, with a second added in 1977. In 1992, the club transitioned to private management, formalizing a lease agreement between its officers and Gosport Borough Council. Under this arrangement, the club assumed responsibility for maintaining the clubhouse interior, while the council managed the exterior and greens.
